We'll verify the request and process the deletion within 14 days. You'll receive a confirmation email once your account and personal data have been deleted.
What will be deleted
On account deletion we will permanently remove:
- Your user account and login credentials
- Profile information (name, email, company, role)
- Saved searches, watchlists, pipeline entries, and exports tied to your account
- Account preferences and settings
- Authentication tokens and active sessions
What we may retain
Please note: some records may be retained for legal or business reasons, including:
- Invoices and billing records required by HMRC and UK accounting law (typically 6 years)
- Records needed to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or to resolve disputes
- Aggregated and anonymised analytics that no longer identify you
Where personally identifiable information must be retained for legal reasons, it will be minimised and anonymised wherever possible.
Backups
Routine backups may contain copies of your data for a short period after deletion. These are overwritten on the standard rotation and are not accessible for everyday operations.
Trade data shown in the Service
FreightSource displays UK import and export records derived from HMRC trade statistics and licensed third-party datasets. Deleting your account does not remove third-party trade data about other businesses, since that data is independent of your account. If you are a business listed in our trade datasets and want to make a data subject request about that data, email john@geater.co.uk.
